2016 Mayoral Debate

On September 21 the Lebanese Chamber hosted the first mayoral debate of the season, which featured the incumbent, Mayor Mike Savage along side Lil MacPherson. The debate was held inside the Spatz Theatre at Citadel High School and was moderated by Cheryl Hodder (QC, Partner at McInnes Cooper).

The debate allowed for both Savage and MacPherson to discuss their platform, as well as why they feel that they are the best choice to become Mayor of Halifax. Savage detailed his plans for inclusion and sustainable development, while MacPherson discussed climate change and the effects of red tape on small business.

The debate featured may interesting topics, such as the view planes, transit and refugees.

While both candidates bring different experience and strategy, they are both passionate about Halifax and want it to be the an amazing city.

Electronic voting is open until October 13 and Election Day is on October 15. Be sure to do your part and vote for Mayor and Councillor.
